(Cano attorney wants next trial somewhere else)….A change of venue hearing for the second Kym Cano trial is set for July 9. A mistrial was declared in March. Cano is accused of shooting her husband and killing him. Francisco Cano was shot once in the face at the couples Calexico home on December 4, 2006. A mistrial was declared after the jury in the first trial could not reach a unanimous verdict. The defense attorney has filed a motion that the next trial be held outside the Imperial County. A tentative trial date has been set for September 22. The prosecution alleges the 39-year-old woman meant to shoot her husband. The defense contends it was an accident.
