(Public comment on proposed move of predator)….Richard Horne, registered as a sexually violent predator, wants to move. In a controversial move, Horne was placed in the Dixieland area near Seeley in 2007. He now wants to move to a house he has purchased on Weaver Road, South of Brawley. A hearing on the request will be held July 10 in Fresno Superior Court. Deputy District Attorney Joseph Beard says the public can comment on the requested move. Anyone wanting to comment can leave a voicemail by calling 760-337-3777, by e-mail at imperialcounty@doj.ca.gov, or by dropping off or mailing a letter to the District Attorney’s Office, 940 West Main Street, suite 102, El Centro, Ca. 92243. Beard says there does not appear to be any disqualifying issues with the house purchased by Horne. He said it is not near any school, park or any other location where children would congregate. Horne apparently purchased the house with funds received in a settlement from an earlier car accident. |
