Brawley Chamber names Frye as award recipient

(Branding Iron Award goes to Francis Frye)….The Brawley Chamber of Commerce handed out the award Thursday. Ceremonies were held at the Del Rio Country Club. Frye is the owner of Frye Chapel and Mortuary. He has been a long time member of the Brawley Chamber. He was elected as the Chambers first vice president in 1957, and took over as President of the Chamber when the elected president could not finish his term. Frye has been active in several service clubs in Brawley for the past 50 years. The Branding Iron Award is the equivalent to a Citizen of the Year award. Frye turned 91 Friday.
