A Brawley resident wanted for murder in Monterey County was arrested at the downtown Calexico port of entry. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers detained 48-year old Jorge Mario Romero , a Mexican citizen who resides in Brawley, after he entered the downtown Calexico port as a pedestrian Monday at about 8:00 P.M. A name check by a CBP officer revealed an outstanding warrant for homicide issued by the Monterey County , California Sheriffs Office. Romero is being held in Imperial County Jail awaiting transfer to Monterey County. |
