The Arizona Western College Lady Matadors (13-15) put a scare into Number 2 ranked Chandler-Gilbert, losing a close match (35-37,23-30,24-30) Friday night.
Lady Matador Head Coach Jason Smith stated “Although we lost tonight, we proved that we’re continuing to get better. We played much better tonight than we did on Wednesday, and the resiliency of our players is really showing. Chandler-Gilbert is a very strong team that gives you very few points and we’re still dealing with being a young team. At certain junctures tonight, I think we played better than we have all season. I’m proud of our players, and I think we can continue to improve.” AWC’s Next Game is vs. Glendale Community College Saturday 3:00PM in Glendale |
