KXO Radio AM1230 and FM 107.5

The Arizona Western College Lady Matadors were victorious in their season home opener by defeating Phoenix College (30-27, 30-28, 33-31).  Ladys Montano lead the Lady Matadors with 13 kills complimented by Patty Paniagua's 12 kills.

After the match AWC Coach Jason Smith stated, “The magic motivational number tonight seemed to be 25, because every time Phoenix hit that number on the scoreboard, our girls seemed to kick it into another gear.  We were much better on our serves, and our focus was elevated from Friday night.  We just need to use these next few days (at the Salt Lake Tournament) to continue to grow as a team.”

The Lady Matadors next match is Friday at the Salt Lake Tournament.
