The Arizona Western College Matadors men's soccer team (7-9) shutout Paradise Valley Community College (8-8-1) by the score of 1-0 at home. Abdel Becerra was dubbed “ Man of the Match” for the Matadors for his strong play.
Matador Head Coach Kenny Dale stated, “Our guys played really hard. It was our 5th game in 11 days, and we were a little fatigued in that regard, but our guys never gave up, and we just kept playing until the last 11 seconds and got the job done. During those 11 days, we were 3-2, which isn’t bad at all, considering that the top 2 teams in the conference were among the teams we played in that stretch. I don’t know where this puts us in the league, but I feel pretty good about it.”
