The Arizona Western College Matador football team (0-1) lost to Mesa Community College (1-0) by the score of 28-6. Tim Johnson rushed for 95 yards and the lone touchdown for the Matadors

Matador Head Coach James Pryor stated, “We dug ourselves a hole that we just couldn’t get out of. We’re a better team than what the score indicated. We need to take better advantage of our opportunities offensively and defensively. We’ve got to go back to work tomorrow to work harder on these things to be ready for Scottsdale next week.”
