This football game marred by turnovers and mental mistakes showcased the Arizona Western Matador football team (0-2) as gracious hosts. The Matadors spotted the Scottsdale Community College Artichokes 21 points in the 1st half and committed 5 turnovers in the contest.
The Artichokes very talented quarterback Joe Caskey who threw for 176 yards and two touchdowns led Scottsdale. Dwight Pete paced Scottsdale with 144 yards rushing on 18 attempts and he entered the end zone twice for Artichoke touchdowns.
Matador Hercules Sula was impressive for AWC in the second half rushing for 87 yards on 13 attempts.
