The 11th Ranked Arizona Western College Matador basketball team (22-4) defeated Eastern Arizona Community College (19-6) last night by the score of 60-58. Matador head coach Kelly Green stated, “It was a great game. Both teams played very hard, and I’m proud of our guys for staying with our game plan. We decided going into the game that we were going to stay on their two great outside shooters (Bulut and Boros) the whole game, and let the other players try to beat us, and our guys stayed with that defensive intensity, and didn’t let up. I didn’t even realize until after the game that Boros was shut out, and that says a lot about our defense to stop a great shooter like that.”
