The 10th ranked Arizona Western College mens basketball team (25-5) will advance to the division 1 playoffs as the 2nd seed by defeating Central Arizona Community College (10-19) by the score of 98-64 last night.
Arizona Western College mens head basketball coach Kelly Green stated, “We came out lackluster defensively, but then really stepped it up in the 2nd half. We took away Zarko’s looks, and got some good looks ourselves. Matt did a fantastic job getting us going early, too. I’m really proud of our sophomores, and it was hard to take them off the floor tonight because they’ve been great players, great students, and great people to represent Yuma.” AWC's next game is versus either Mesa/Cochise Community College contest next Thursday night at 7:30PM in Yuma, Arizona. |
