| The Arizona Western College Lady Matador basketball team (19-12) was eliminated from regional playoff action by 7th ranked Central Arizona Community College (29-2) last night in the first round of the playoffs 72-48 completing their season. Arizona Western College head coach Patrick Cunningham concluded, “We played hard, and tried to run our defensive game plan, but when you have trouble making shots, it’s hard to get everything else going. Give Central credit for taking us out of what we do. I’m proud of our team for getting this close, but it’s still very disappointing for all of us that we couldn’t get where we wanted to go this year.” |
