The Arizona Western College Matador baseball team (20-19) were swept in a doubleheader by Pima Community College (22-15) today by the scores of 14-0 and 9-6. AWC head baseball coach John Stratton stated, “It was a disappointing day-especially considering how well we’ve played the last 4 games.  But once in a while, you get a debacle and you just can’t seem to do anything about it-where balls fall in and things just don’t go your way.  That’s what happened in Game 1, and Pima put their #1 pitcher (Delgado) out there, so you know how he’ll pitch with a lead like that.  The bigger concern for us was that we didn’t come back and play better baseball in the 2nd game.”

AWC’s Next Game:     vs. Eastern Arizona DH Tuesday Noon (Kammann Field-AWC Campus)
