The Arizona Western College Matador baseball team (8-8) split a doubleheader with 5th ranked Mesa Community College (9-6) by the scores 1-3 and 4-1.
AWC head baseball coach John Stratton stated, “This was the epitome of what I’ve been saying to the guys from Day 1. This season is not a sprint. It’s a marathon. I changed it today to say ‘doubleheader’ instead of ‘season’, because we just have to be patient on days like this when neither team is swinging the bat well. Tyler gave us a chance to be patient in the 2nd game with his pitching. We finally got an opportunity to take advantage of it, and we did.” AWC’s Next Game: at Phoenix DH Saturday Noon (Phoenix) |
