The Arizona Western College Matador baseball team (21-20) split a doubleheader with Eastern Arizona Community College (17-25) by the scores of 2-5 and 11-0.
AWC head baseball coach John Stratton stated, “At least we responded with a strong second game today. It always boils down to pitching. We were on a roll last week, and the thing that stopped it was poor pitching performances on our part. The way we stopped that string was a great pitching performance from Joe Martinez, who pitched one of the best games of his life today.” AWC’s Next Game: at Central Arizona DH Saturday Noon (Coolidge) |
